Our mock inspections analyse your KLOE compliance and will establish if the service is meeting the requirements for Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led. A detailed report will then be provided, enabling you to review practice in each area and where required formulate a Quality Improvement Plan to demonstrate your proposed actions to achieve compliance.

Mock inspections are becoming a popular service, as they ensure all parts of the standards are fully audited and gaps in compliance can be addressed.

Depending on the size of your service and the current CQC rating, these can either be done on an annual basis or a Quality Assurance Programme can be instigated, where support is given post mock inspection and then a further mock inspection is carried out, for example 6 months later to review progress.

It can be quite daunting knowing where to start, however, Solicitude Training have first-hand experience of this and can support you in the process, by either; assisting you to develop your Action Plan / Quality Improvement Plan or assisting you to develop and implement your Action Plan / Quality Improvement Plan.

Solicitude Training are able to offer specific audits, e.g. infection control to ensure compliance with the standards and once again provide a detailed report following the audit, highlighting both areas of good practice as well as any areas that may need improvement.

Solicitude Training offer a range of competency assessments including: -

• Recording of Observations for care staff (Temperature, pulse, blood pressure, urinalysis)
• Blood glucose monitoring
• Administration of medication (care staff and nurses)
• Venepuncture
• Catheterisation (male and female)

Staff coaching, mentoring and development is essential for all levels of staff and Solicitude Training can work with services to facilitate this. This could be for either management or senior nurses (when the manager is non-clinical), or alternatively for the whole staff team.

Solicitude Training can undertake a training needs analysis where they will review the training that is undertaken to ensure that the service provides: “suitably qualified, competent, skilled and experienced staff to make sure that they can meet people’s care and treatment needs and therefore meet the requirements of Section 2 of the regulations”.

From this, recommendations can be made and where required, an annual training programme can be devised and implemented to ensure staff undertake the required training.
